Soooo...Jane is now ready to offer all natural skin care parties! It's a great chance for you and a group of ladies (or men who, shockingly, buy a large quantity of soaps at the farmer's market! Their favorite? Rosemary Mint w/menthol) to receive FREE facials and try out tons of products. Jane hates talking in front of people and SO will not be torturing you, your friends, or your coworkers with any type of presentation. Of course, she is happy to answer any and all questions about products and making the switch to healthier skin care. Invite your pals, your neighbors, your colleagues and enjoy an evening of relaxation. Products will be on hand to purchase and take home-no ordering and waiting, then having to deliver to everyone!
Hostesses do earn 10 free soaps for having a party plus $15 in free product on every $100 ordered.
Email me at dawn@plainjaneskincare.com or call 770-605-4149 to book or chat!

So Plain Jane is on twitter now. I don't know why, don't know what I do that so important anyone would need an hour by hour update, but I'm there. If you know Jane well, you know she resists all social networking sites and, really, technology in general. :) But I just can't stand being left out of all the excitement! So there I am..."follow me" (which feels an awful lot like asking people to be your friend...awkward) on Twitter. And I'll follow you. And others will follow us. And I'll have to think of something worthwhile to say.
I will be at Harry's (It's always Whole Foods to me.) in Alpharetta on May 11 from 5:30-7:30pm doing FREE Dead Sea Mud Facials. Come on by and ENJOY! It's a Night Out, and there will be lots of vendors with free products/services.
I will also be at Clear Conscience Natural Market on Hwy 140 on May 9 from 11am until... No facials, but locals can grab some goods sans shipping charges. There will be food and other vendors, and it's just a great little store in general to support.
See you soon!

Amy, a former Hallmark magazine editor who currently blogs about the many wonderful handmade crafters out there, has posted a blog about Plain Jane Skin Care.
Check it out at: http://www.thethingswemake.blogspot.com/
You will get hooked on her beautiful (and helpful!) posts, so watch out!
She is offering a free giveaway of Plain Jane products-a summer citrus shea butter, a dead sea mud facial jar, and a dead sea mud bar. Just stop by and comment on your favorite thing about the upcoming season. You only have until March 25, so skip on over today!

I love this website, both for hard-to-find green products and for information.
Check out this article on cleaning products YOU can make at home...so simple, which Plain Jane loves, and so GREEN! Get rid of all those smelly cleansers!

Check out this article for some scary facts on lead in lipstick and other commonly used skin care products (NOT ours!). Here is an excerpt:
"How many personal care products do you use everyday? If you take a minute to add them all up you may be surprised. There's soap, lotion, shampoo, shave gel and makeup. For many women, the number is usually well over a dozen. What concerns scientists is that number often doubles for teens.
That doesn't surprise Emma Spencer of Winchester. The college freshman has a neat stack of small drawers in her bathroom filled with eye shadows, blush and lipstick. But when she looks in the mirror to brush on her favorite lip color, she has a slightly different view than most teens.
Emma now understands why scientists are concerned. She gave a sample of her blood as part of a nationwide study to help researchers understand if the chemicals commonly used in cosmetics wound up in our blood.
"They found varying levels of different chemicals like phthalates and parabens and fragrances that are potentially harmful to everyone," Emma explained..."

Jane has been busy formulating new products for you...hang in there, loyal fans! The squalane oil is up and ready, and coffee butter balm is waiting to come wake you up! It's great on the lips, hands, elbows....anywhere you have skin needing moisture! It's a super-sized lip balm...somewhere between a lip balm and a lotion stick. At $5, it's a great deal compared with the one cup of java you can get for the same price! This stick will last and last...
Also coming are cucumber and aloe bars (which will be GREAT for those upcoming spring/summer sunburns...despite what the groundhog said!) and organic carrot facial bars.
Sugar scrubs have been permanently reduced in price, due to Jane ordering some of those ingredients in such huge amounts.
Finally, it's free shipping for the month of February! That's like getting a free bar of soap with every order! Try something new!

So while Jane obviously prefers that you purchase her handmade products :), she supports families making their own soaps and skin care products, too! Coming soon will be soapmaking supplies...just the basics and just a couple at a time (to see how they do), but they are coming! Just be patient, as usual, with photos!
Squalane oil, derived from the olive, is here! (NOT to be confused with squalene oil which comes from shark liver oil...yuck) Squalane is a wonderfully light oil that can be applied directly to your skin. It is absorbed immediately and has no color or scent to it at all. You can use it to formulate your own products or apply directly to your skin using the treatment pump that it comes in. It really is a wonderful treat and lasts quite a while! If you like the idea of shea butter, but it's just too thick for your taste, you definitely want to try the squalane!

Did you know that Plain Jane is now on etsy.com? Of course, you can find WAY more products here on the website, but if you are interested in buying just one thing (How can that be? :), you can get it there for $2.50 shipping (only one item).
And did you also know that Plain Jane is Peta-Approved? Check it out; if you go to their site, you will find us in their approved list.
Plain Jane has also worked with the Feingold Association and had her products approved by them!
Whew! Jane is tired just thinking about it...
